As a New Year opener, the Alumni host a social get-together for fellow alumni, students and green industry.  The event is held Tuesday evening of the OSU Short Course/CENTS show. This event was made possible in 2011 with the generous sponsorship sponsorship from Five Season's Landscape Management and Environmental Management, Inc. (EMI).
 

Annual Alumni Hall of Fame Award

Columbus State Landscape Alumni Association takes great pride to announce the addition of an annual Columbus State Landscape Alumni Hall of Fame award. The Hall of Fame is a way to honor landscape graduates, faculty or staff members who have made a prominent impact on the Columbus State Landscape Design/Build program or contributions to the School, their profession, and/or society. Each year one nominee will be inducted into the Hall of Fame. An induction ceremony will be held in their honor. A framed photograph of the nominee will be displayed in the Hall of Fame hallway in Davidson Hall. The 2010 recipient will be awarded at the Barley's Social Gathering, January 25, 2011.

Nominations for 2011 are being accepted until September 30, 2011. Please take a few minutes to nominate a well deserving candidate!
 

CSLA Rose Sale

Our annual Rose Sale is conducted via order forms submitted by mail, fax or by hand delivery. Available colors include Red or Pink.  Pick up location is Davidson Hall, 2nd Floor Lobby or Room 242. Pick up date and time TBA.
 

35th Annual PLANET Student Career Days

March 17-20, 2011 | Joliet Junior College, Joliet, IL

From simple beginnings in 1977, when five schools met at Mississippi State University to compete in the first of what has become the Professional Landscape Network's (PLANET) Student Career Days, this event has grown to become the largest recruiting event and student competition in the industry.

Student Career Days is an annual three-day competitive event among students enrolled in horticulture programs from colleges and universities across the country. The students have the chance to compete in events that are directly related to the skills necessary for a career in the green industry. The event also offers a Career Fair which gives the students the opportunity to meet prospective employers in the industry and discuss employment opportunities. Helping Hands in the Garden - PLANET Day of Service

Helping Hands in the Garden is an organization that assists breast cancer patients with spring clean-up of their yard and garden. It was created by CSLA Alumnus and breast cancer survivor, Elaine Euwer who experienced first hand the comfort that garden tending with friends can provide in a time of need. CSLA students and alumni volunteer to do light labor tasks such as weeding, light pruning, and mulching. For more info visit the Helping Hands in the Garden web site.
 

Alumni Garden Fundraiser

Join us for an evening with The Garden Sage. Deb Knapke graciously opens up her garden to Friends of the Columbus State Landscape Alumni for wine & cheese and a tour of her garden. The cost is $15 per person or $25 per couple with proceeds supporting the Columbus State Landscape Alumni Association.

18th Annual CSLAA Golf Outing

August 5, 2011 | Buck Ridge Golf Course, Marysville OH

Not only is this event one of our biggest fundraising opportunities of the year it provides our members with the opportunity to mingle with industry leaders in a relaxed, though somewhat competitive, environment. We offer a large selection of raffle prizes to give away (typical value estimated in the thousands) and that combined with hole sponsors raise operating funds for both CSLA & CSLAA.
 

Taste the Future

CSLAA is proud to be volunteering at the 21st annual culinary gala, Taste the Future. The event features culinary masterpieces from more than 50 of central Ohio's best establishments. The real stars of this event are the amazing chefs from around the community who show off their remarkable culinary skills to over 1,250 guests. Everything takes place on the downtown campus of Columbus State Community College and all proceeds from the event fund scholarships and special projects. New Albany Classic

The New Albany Classic Invitational Grand Prix & Family Day was created to benefit the Columbus Coalition Against Family Violence, an organization focused on changing our community’s attitude and response to family violence.  The Classic was founded by Abigail S. Wexner in 1998. 

As one of our fundraiser, each year we volunteer our time to provide staffing for numerous activities from setup to tear down to help provide a smooth operation of the Classic.

CSLA Spring Bulb Sale

Another fundraiser is our Breck's Spring Bulb sale. It is as simple as 1-2-3 to have beautiful spring flowers. Simply make your bulb selection from our Breck's catalog and the bulbs will be shipped to you...no pick up involved!

Columbus Landscape Association (CLA) Student-Industry Night

Plan to attend the annual CLA "Student-Industry Night". Students pursuing a degree in a landscape-related field of study are invited to attend this meeting where they will have the opportunity to meet member firms, learn about job openings, and apply for the CLA Scholarship.

CSLA Poinsettia Sale

November-December | CSCC

Our annual Poinsettia Sale is conducted via order forms submitted by mail, fax or by hand delivery. Available colors include Red, White, Pink, Marble (pale yellow with pink centers), Jingle Bells (red with white spots), and Da Vinci ("peppermint" pink with dark green lower leaves). Pick-up starts the first week in December (exact pick-up dates and times TBA). Pick up location is at Davidson Hall, Room 242 on the CSCC campus.

During the Holiday Season, students, faculty, staff, alumni and their families are welcome to the annual Christmas Gathering. You are asked to bring an appetizer/dessert to share and your choice of beverage. Date, time and place to be announced.
